            Doo-wa-kee means in Kattang/ Gattang: "To Search".

            The Biripi and Worimi Aboriginal people speak Kattang/ Gattang.

            The Biripi are situated between Camden Haven in the north, Nowendoc-Gloucester in the west and to Tuncurry in the south.

            The Wormi encompass areas from Forster in the north to Barrington in the west and Port Stephens in the south.

            Doo-wa-kee are committed to the protection and preservation of all Aboriginal heritage wherever it may be.

            Doo-wa-kee is an Aboriginal operated business involving Aboriginal culture and heritage, and archeology.

            The business comprises a number of Aboriginal people who have undertaken comprehensive Aboriginal cultural heritage surveys with government & non-government clients.

            Staff have been engaged in a number of major projects with Commonwealth, NSW and Local governments.

            All staff have current OHS, First Aid and relevant TAFE cultural environmental qualifications. Doo-wa-kee has indemnity insurance for staff and clients whilst operating in field environments. Doo-wa-kee is registered with NSW Fair Trading.

            Doo-wa-kee have been actively involved with past human environments in modern contexts, and how the correlation between observable culture and environment changes.

            Doowakee can provide a range of services to meet your needs. We can also provide advice and additional referral to more scientific based aspects of archaeology. Our prime directive is Aboriginal Cultural Archaeology, that is less destructive and more conservation based.

            Each Aboriginal community has its own set of standards or protocols to be followed. Through Doowakee proponents can directly communicate with local Aboriginal custodians.

            Reports produced by Doowakee meet relevant NSW National Parks standards and guidelines and current Archaeological requirements.

            The following is a sample of projects completed by Doo-wa-kee.

            Doo-wa-kee staff were contracted to undertake Aboriginal heritage salvage and monitoring during pre-planning and construction phases.
